Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
Sometimes you can understand exactly why you feel the way you do and still find your body reacting as though the past is happening now.
EMDR is an evidence-based psychological therapy originally developed to treat trauma and PTSD. It can also be helpful when difficult experiences, relationships or earlier attachment wounds continue to shape how you feel, respond and connect in the present.
Rather than relying on talking alone, EMDR helps you safely access and process memories and experiences that may still feel emotionally “stuck”.
We use bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, alongside carefully paced trauma processing.
The aim isn’t to erase what happened or make you forget it. Instead, the memory can begin to feel more like something that happened in the past, rather than something your mind and body still need to respond to now.
